My thought in making them so was...<br /><br />(1) I was torturing my players and making them start at 0-level and roll on this ridiculous table, so they deserved a break.<br /><br />and<br /><br />(2) It was a way of balancing out the obviously not-equal backgrounds. Player A is a wealthy nobleman, and player B is a pig farmer. They both make it alive to level 1.
